Many common items may create bad indoor air quality in your Edmonton house.
This includes:
- Substances in [carpeting, furniture and drapes that give off fumes
- Cleaning sprays
- Paint
- Personal care products
- Air fresheners and candles
Though they are usually more efficient, newer homes don’t ventilate the way older houses do. Snug weather stripping and storm doors keep interior air in and exterior air out. This gives increased energy savings, but the decreased exchange of outdoor and indoor air can cause pollutants building up inside.
When this occurs, a whole-house ventilation system is suggested. Ventilation systems replace dirty indoor air for fresher outside air without sacrificing energy savings.
