Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are trudging through the last several weeks of winter but we still have to have our furnaces, especially during cold nights. Not much is worse than going to bed at night just to realize your furnace won’t turn on. If you find yourself in this situation, here are a couple things you can check yourself before calling Rob's Albertan Service Experts.
Check Air Filters
You should swap out standard air filters monthly. If you fail to do so, they can get clogged, blocking air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem ridiculous, but verify the power switch next to the furnace is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so confirm the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch has not been accidently moved to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your heating system will still not kick on, give Rob's Albertan Service Experts a call at 780-800-9047 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
