We are getting through the last several weeks of winter but we still need our furnaces, especially during cold nights. Not much is worse than laying down at night just to find out your furnace won’t start up. If your furnace won’t turn on, here are a couple things you can check yourself prior to calling Rob's Albertan Service Experts.
Check Air Filters
You should replace standard air filters every 30 days. If you fail to do so, they can become clogged, blocking air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the heating system won’t turn on. Also, verify the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem ridiculous, but confirm the power switch next to the furnace is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so make sure the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch was not accidently moved to the “Off” position.
If you review all these things and your heating system will still not kick on, give Rob's Albertan Service Experts a call at 780-800-9047 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
