Rob's Albertan Service Experts in Edmonton always writes about how our technicians are NATE-certified, and while it sounds comforting, what does it really mean?
NATE is the acronym for North American Technician Excellence and, as mentioned on their website, is the nation’s largest certification organization for HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and refrigeration technicians. The organization was developed nearly 20 years ago and is supported by the entire HVAC and refrigeration industry but not all people in the industry are required to be certified through NATE. The certification is discretionary and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment without being certified by NATE.
It’s important to Rob's Albertan Service Experts that our technicians are NATE-certified to make sure we are sending the most qualified and trained technicians into your home. To make sure experts meet these standards, the NATE-certification exams validate real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The tests are knowledge-based assessments that assess the technician’s knowledge of these standards.
Since Rob's Albertan Service Experts focuses on the HVAC side of NATE-certification and not refrigeration, there are only certain areas pertinent to our technicians. NATE exam candidates may receive installation and/or service certification in one or more of the specialty areas listed below:
- Air Conditioning
