What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Rob's Albertan Service Experts is here with a couple of the most common air conditioning problems in Edmonton.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system operating but there isn’t cool air blowing, you could need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air blowing from your air conditioner is actually cool. Call Rob's Albertan Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so another problem to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is restricted. If you can confirm these things, you may be able to pinpoint the issue; if not, give Rob's Albertan Service Experts a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is blocked, it could cause major cooling problems. Another thing that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your air conditioner is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a frequent issue when homes are constructed. Rob's Albertan Service Experts will come out and perform an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and needs cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be back in business. Remember that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the correct temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your trouble, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Rob's Albertan Service Experts is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
