Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning proudly sends NATE-Certified technicians into customers’ homes across North America every day. While this notation of being Nate-Certified definitely sounds comforting, what does it actually mean?
NATE, an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence, is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. NATE is the certification organization that was established by and has been acknowledged by the entire HVACR industry for approximately 20 years. But, not all technicians in the field have to be NATE-Certified. The certification is elective and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment without the certification.
It’s important to Service Experts that our team is NATE-Certified to make sure we are placing the most qualified technicians into our customers’ homes. To make sure technicians meet these benchmarks, the NATE-Certification exams validate real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The assessments are knowledge-based exams that test the technician’s understanding of these rules.
Due to the fact that Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning focuses largely on the HVAC side of NATE-Certification, our technicians achieve their designations in these areas. However, NATE assessment candidates may earn certification in one or more of these areas:
- Air Conditioning
- Air Distribution
- Gas Heating
- Oil Heating
- Heat Pumps
- Hydronic Gas (service only)
- Hydronics Oil (service only)
- Light Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
- Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
- Ground Source Heat Pump Loop Installer
- Senior HVAC Efficiency Analyst
