The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Headquarters Office in Plano, TX was excited to give over 300 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in the Texas city.
“Last September, I had the ability to get a group of colleagues to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was an unbelievable experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They go above and beyond providing food – they are a critical part of this community.”
Cheryl Jackson began Minnie’s Food Pantry as a way to celebrate her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would receive her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they are given to create healthy, long-lasting meals. They also give resume support along with financial and job classes to help families get back on their feet.
Since the families receive approximately 50 pounds of food to get them through the month, Service Experts was able to provide meals for six families for the month.
“Everyone was so excited that we had this food drive for Minnie’s Food Pantry, and they even showed our group their incredible facility,” Wilson said.
